For EMTs, paramedics and EMS agencies
You meet the patient before you meet the file
Most calls start with a question the patient cannot answer: what are you allergic to, what are you taking, what have you already decided. AtTheScene answers it from the record instead of from a neighbour.
What changes on a call
Less asking, more treating
Before you arrive
The record loads while the truck is moving, so the first minute at the door is not spent on questions.
At the door
Allergies and current medications are on screen before the first drug is drawn.
On the handover
The same record gives the receiving hospital a consistent starting point for its own notes.
“The AtTheScene app will be installed on all of our techs’ laptops, and we are expecting them to use it every time they have an emergency run. There are approximately 1.1 million emergency transports statewide per year. We do about 55,000 transports per year, and the information is vital to improving patient service and outcome.”
Practical questions
What an agency asks first
No. AtTheScene feeds the ePCR a crew already uses. The agency’s ePCR provider is responsible for the integrated offering, including its own costs.
Anything that can reach the internet: the laptop already in the truck, a tablet, or a phone. AtTheScene runs on Android, iOS and PC.
From health information exchanges and other data sources the agency and its hospitals are already connected to — in Ohio, CliniSync.
Pilot first
The first Ohio agreement was a pilot with a single private ambulance service, not a statewide rollout.
